Marjan van Loon

President Director of Shell Netherlands

Marjan will share how they tackled the crisis so far and the opportunities that arose.

Marjan van Loon is the President Director of Shell Netherlands. In her role as the CEO, van Loon is committed to contributing to the exciting challenges in energy, innovation and technology. Marjan will share what she – as an employer for more than 82 000 people in NL – has done to tackle the crisis, the interdependencies she had to manage, and what opportunities arose in these past six months. Shell is a board member of ICP.


Before being appointed to the esteemed role in 2016, she served as the vice-president of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Gas Processing at Shell. In that position, she was responsible for all the technical aspects of Shell LNG Developments globally, including the design and development of Floating LNG and LNG as fuel for the transport sector. In total, she managed a departmental revenue of over $100 million.

Van Loon has a MSc in Chemical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology. In 2017, Marjan was nominated as the most influential Dutch woman in business by Opzij Magazine.
